(Virtually) Carrying on a Tradition

Dougnut Wednesdays started in Room 503 as a way to get over the mid-week "Wednesday hump." Once both sections moved into 7th grade, we continued the tradition to include both classrooms so that all of the students from the 2009-2010 school year and their teachers - Mrs. Stoyanoff and myself - could have the opportunity to reunite, hang out together, laugh, share memories, and catch up on whatever was going on currently.

For two years, we did a good job of keeping doughnut Wednesdays going every quarter. This last year, we didn't keep it up so well, with Stoy being gone and me being busy. We had our final Doughnut Wednesday the last week of school - a bittersweet affair, I think it was.

Well, just because Stoy and I are not physically at TPA, it doesn't mean we can't gather around for Doughnut Wednesdays via the computer. So, here's my thought: why don't we do virtual Doughnut Wednesdays every week?! Whoever wants to share a memory, a photo, a milestone (birthdays, etc.), a story, a poem, some news on what's going in our lives - can! And we can all read up on what's going on.

PARENTS are invited to do so as well!

You can email me anything you would like to share in an attachment and I will post it on the blog here. It doesn't really have to be a Wednesday, it can be anytime. But I will do my best to send out an email blast and/or post a link on my Miz Pitman Facebook page on Wednesdays. You can also save the blog to your "Favorites" - just like our old classroom blogs. I will also leave the "Comments" available and open so we can share thoughts about the posts.

I think this could be a way cool thing to keep up over the next few years. It would be interesting to see if we could keep our connection going up through your graduation in 2016. 2016?! Oy yoi, yoi!!!

Whaddya say? Are you all game?!

Hope to "hear" from you soon!

Love always,
Ms. P
